Business-Academic Engagement Track

Track Coordinators: Birgit Schulze (Kiel University) and Nic Lees (Lincoln University).

This track aims at stimulating the debate between business experts, professionals and academics around two main topics:

        1) Supplier relationship quality as a source of cooperation, innovation, and performance in chains and networks
Relationship quality is one of the soft factors of supply chain coordination which are not really questioned to be relevant - but its’ actual impact still remains difficult to grasp empirically. This track is dedicated to discuss scientific and practical experiences and discuss avenues of future research.

        2) Sustainability controlling in food SMEs and their supply chains
SMEs represent an important part of the food sector. With increased importance of sustainability issues, the question of whether, and if yes, how, SMEs aiming at more sustainable practices can manage and control their internal processes and influence their upstream supply chain partners arises. The track is open for contributions from research and practice, dealing with both internal and upstream sustainability management.
