Henny Swinkels is Director Corporate Affairs of the Dutch family owned VanDrie Group. The VanDrie Group is global market leader for the production and processing of veal and the largest producer of calf milk replacer and calf skins. 95% Of the veal produced in the Netherlands is exported to over 60 countries. VanDrie Group has an European market share of about 30 % and an annual turnover of approximately € 2 billion. The Van Drie family laid the foundation for this company in the 1960’s and it is still have complete ownership. 1,800 employees are presently working for the VanDrie Group, divided over their subsidiaries in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany and Italy. Among the VanDrie Group are more than 20 companies. The VanDrie Group has integrated an unique food chain safety system: Safety Guard. The Safety Guard food safety system was the first in the world to receive the Lloyd’s Food Safety Supply Chain Certificate. Safety Guard safeguards not only food safety, but also animal welfare and the environment. As a Director Corporate Affairs Henny Swinkels represents the VanDrie Group in public and interacts with employees, clients, media and stakeholders such as the government and NGO’s.

Henny Swinkels is working in the veal industry for more than 25 years. In addition to his positions at the VanDrie Group and the Veal Promotion Foundation Henny Swinkels holds positions in different organisations such as: Global Round table for Sustainable Beef (GRSB), the European federation of meat processing industry (Clivatri), European Livestock and Meat Trading Union (UECBV), the Dutch Central Organisation for the Meat Sector (COV) and the Foundation for Quality Guarantee of the Veal Sector (SKV).
